Connection is difficult these days. I am not discounting our digital world, but it certainly isn’t the same. I miss sitting in a room with my collaborators and feeding off the energy we send into the space. I will admit to being a hugger and a close talker. Our physical intimacy is now relegated to our households and everyone else is 6 feet away behind a mask.
Artists aren’t used to having time on our hands. We have prep for the next show, obligations to our day jobs, audition after audition after audition…. If there is one thing I know about artists, we know how to hustle. Inevitably, now that we have nothing but time on our hands, people have started creating online content. There are so many blogs, live streams, digital projects. It is a lot. So why another?
Connection. Relationships start when people are vulnerable; when we show ourselves without a glamour. This is an honest telling of who we are, where we have come from, and our commitment to offering up knowledge that is inclusive, empowered, and embodied. Our hope is that in our words and videos that you will feel seen, heard, and valued so we can all find what we need in our relationship.
Thumbprint isn’t just a studio. It is a community for artists.
Our 2020 has looked very different from day one and the only thing that is going to keep our head above water right now is connecting with our community. Please join us here as we fail fantastically, are beautifully vulnerable and bring you honest, truthful content that we hope inspires you to create that connection with other people.
