Season 1, Episode 1: Jaina Alexander

In our first episode and in order for you to get to know our hosts better, April Sigman-Marx sits down with Thumbprint Co-Founder (and co-host) Jaina Alexander to chat about Embracing the Multi Hyphenate. Listen to them talk about Jaina’s journey from opera to theatre and how her experience navigating these two worlds serves her as the multi-hyphenate artist she is today.

Jaina is a singer, actor, educator, dog mom and a Founding Artistic Director of Thumbprint Studios. A multi-genre artist, Jaina has sung with theatres, opera companies, and choirs all around the Midwest, at award-winning cabaret and jazz clubs, and with The Rolling Stones. Her work as an educator focuses on vocal confidence and flexibility to allow for bold and brave artistic choices. Select projects include: Lily in The Secret Garden as a Guest Artist Residency with Cloud County Community College, Chicago Premiere of Harriet Tubman: When I Crossed That Line To Freedom with South Shore Opera Company, and The Defiant Requiem: Verdi at Teretzin a multimedia benefit for Holocaust survivors with The Defiant Requiem Foundation. She is also a proud member of Estill Voice where she is an Estill Master Teacher candidate, MICHA, VASTA, and Lola Bard Productions.
